if it does, why doesn't the person that actually got it to work give us his email address and he can do it for us, and about the 0's in front of the hex code, that doesn't make a difference, unless it find multiples of your credit amount, its still gonna find it wether its 00FF FF FF or FF FF FF, i'v been trying this for hours, and i can't find anything thats even close to my funds, but i guess it must be there

Another possible reason it could not be working is that if you have the latest, or any version other than the original (i.e the first version, not patched or updated) then it will not work, the stingy sods at egosoft have basically removed/stealthed that string now so all the credits info is no longer that easily accessed! stingy sods indeed......give em a slap i say...

this is relly annoying coz ive been trying for days to get this editor to work ive tried downloading diffrent hex editors but the one im using is XIV32. im at the start of the game and i hav 5000 creds which in hex is 1388 (thats with no 0's) but if i do a count to see how many 1388's there are there is somthing like 5000 of them and i thought that there was only ment to be 1. im RELLY STUCK so if sombody can get the editor to work could they plz send me a saved game with as much creds as possible and pref at the start of the game if sombody can do this can u send it to (junior8050@hotmail.com).

this site has a save game you can load with 999999999 cr ready to go at start of the game.

I had the same problem however it now works a treat, Make a copy of your save file just in case! get the exact amount of credits in your save game file, get your hex string via the scientific calculator, you must have a string of 8 numbers/letters, so if you only have 7 or 6 numbers /letters add as many 0's as you need in front of this! I'm using XVI32 hex editor, click find, there is only 1 string believe me, get the hex string for the amount of credits you want I had 888,888,888 and click replace, type your string in the box and hey presto( I had to put the string in manually the first time i tried) dont forget to save enjoy!
