u dont have to hold any thing down. unlike other games wen u type a cheat in there is no sound. say if u type a cheat in in need for speed underground 2 it will make a sort of ding noise. but this isn't like that at all. u press and say for instance u pres the buttons to unlock all drag tracks u punch it in, then go to quick race and drag choose ur car and then scroll through it. there u go. sometimes it doesnt work at the first shot so keepo repeating until u get it

you dont have to hold anything down unless it is part of the cheat. like to get really rich just go to main menu and type in "y,z,a,z,a,z,a,y,z,a,z,a" Then u will have a whole lotta moooo la!!!!! some codes will say hold L or R like to unlock all of the cars " hold down L then type in x,x,y,x,z,a" there you go hopefully this works for you and answered your question
