There is no user manual as such.I have searched a lot,but to no avail.I have played the training levels and evolved a manual of my own. Here it goes:
TAKE OFF
1.(Shift+1 to 0)= Engine power 2. W = Aircraft starts moving on the runway. 3. = Rudder controls,(also effective on the runway). 4.(+) and( -) =afterburner thrust[in flight] 5. A and L= Auto pilot and auto land 6. Tab = cycle fwd throgh way pts 7.G = Release landing gear
8.VIEW a. NUM (+)or(-) = closer HUD [ and ] = left and right MFDs changing modes, one of them radar V = superimpose MFD J = get radar hieght on HUD or see ground or sea level altitude U = change views in HUD num1 = pilot left view num 2 = pilot centre == === 3 = === right ==
num 5 = all navigation in instrument mode === 6 = Navigation panel
num 8 = complete cockpit view
9. P = pause game 10. J = get RADAR hieght on HUD + sea/ground level altitude 11. M = bullets/straffing 12. Brake ???? 13. MODES a. 5. MSLS
14. TARGET Tracking a. ENTER = Missile selection b. Insert/Delete = increase or decrease radar range c. SPACE bar = Fire
Navigation(WAY POINTS)
1.Looking at the top portion of the HUD,you,ll notice an oblong box with a numbered scale below it.The number in the box is your current heading.Note the inverted 'v' (^ ),which is the heading to way point indicator. When heading directly towards the way point, this indicator will be centered.
2.In the bottom right of the HUD,you,ll see three numbers together. The top, separated by a period, are way point number and heading to the way point respectively. The number below represents the distance to the way point.Once you reach a way pt,the onboard cptr will automatically choose the next available one for you.
Escort Friendly Aircraft
1.Begin the mission by waiting for the plane you are escorting to become airborne.Once you recieve permission to take off, rendezvous with the a/c at approx 3000 ft and follow any given instrs.Make sure your wheel brakes are turned off.
Attacking an aerial tgt
1.Take off speed for this msn is about 170 knots.Increse your throttle to max and move.Keep straight on the runway with the help of rudders. Now you,re clear of the gr.Retract your landing gear.Once retracted, your HUD should enter navigation (NAV) mode.Stay in this mode until further instructed. If you have already done so,reduce your thrust to around 40%,to stabilize speed at around 500 knots.
2.Now we can proceed to engage our first tgt.The en plane will be patrolling in the vicinity of the 1st way pt.With way pt 1 selected, continue on course using the heading indicator. The way pt marker should lead you on a heading of approx 170 degrees
3. To see your MFD screens, view the right and left panels of your cockpit,or select the superimpose MFD option from your keyboard (V) key.
4. Select radar on an MFD,using(I) and increase its viewing range to a max(Insert/DEL).Having done so you will see your air tgt indicated by a small star.As you apch the plane, you may find it useful to decrease the radar displaying range.
5.The HUD altimeter is positioned at the right of the display and can show ground and sea level altitudes.Select ground hieght mode.(J) key.The tgt plane will be patrolling 6000 ft above the terrain level so aim to cruise at this altitude.
6.Now you are closer to your tgt,try changing to missile HUD mode(MSLS).You may do so by pressing '5'.With missile mode selected, you should see a missile title displayed at the bottom left of the HUD,.This is your current air to air missile selection.Use the msl selection key to choose (AIM/20s)."ENTER".In msl mode the display will provide a highlight square around the tgt you are currently tracking. If you cant see this now ,manoevre the plane to place thetgt in your sights to allow to allow the missile system to track the tgt. When missile lock is achieved........................................Do not fire until the tgt is within range of your currently selected, missile .
