For some codes, you can only enter a limited amount of leters, numbers, ECT. If you own OOS (Oracle of Seasons) you must put in codes gathered from OOA (Oracle of Ages) to Farore in OOS. So some of those code may have only 5 characters. So if you are trying to input the Laybranna Secret to Farore, it isn't going to work, you must put it in a new game of OOA, go to secrets after selecting an empty file, then input the code. So my short answer to your question is no, you can't space inputting a code, you just have to find the right length of code. Here is the length of code you input to people:

Secrets starting a new game: 20 Characters

Farore: 5 Characters

Red Snake: 15 Characters
