Yes, and I believe 3 player mode is available also.Simply plug in your controllers, and multitaps, and then, as long as you have both the girl and the sprite, press start on controllers 2 and/or three to start playing. Press select to change your character as usual-you cannot do this in 3 player mode.

For the rom of the game, depending on what emulator you are using you switch between characters with the right shift button.
