ive been hitting his stem for over an hour and its not working

Go up to it's pot and start to shove it to the edge of the platform and when it's about to lunge out at you, when you get hit get the baby and jump over the ghost and continue to shove it off but watch out for the shyguy as they will try to push it in the opposite direction.

you dont hit the stem.. theres a little flower looking thing towards the bottom of the main stem..that flower has an X on it..you hit that either three or four times and it kills it
