On the 8th level I can't figure out how to get the first key

First get the hammer and go to the screen beloow the scren with the lock in it , hold the A button to use the big hammer. Small bumps in the larger cloud will appear and hit those with your hammer. The key is in one of those protrusions.....

You need to use the boomerang on the 2 switches and you need to go to the shadow world and activate all the swictes, then you will get the key
