I am on the second day and i cant figure out where the illustrator is. his name is patson and he is by the porch but i cant figure out where the porch is! please help asap!

If you go down the alley past the get that is half opened you will see a set of steps that go down into the basement. You need to go down the steps and look at the ledge below the railing. You need to pick up a piece of metal (I think) and hit the door with it. The newspaper boy will come by and tell you the secret knock.
