You need to feed your character. He won't die, but he will stop and hold his tummy while it says "guuuu". That means he's hungry. Go into your quick menu and pick a food that you want to eat (different foods keep you full for different periods of time. Also, food your make in your kitchen keep you fuller longer than an edible plant or a crop). Then, when it says "eat" in your menu in the top right of your screen, press A and you will eat it. You should eat about 2 or 3 times a day to keep from getting too hungry.

If he goes without food long enough, on the pause screen he will start expelling a white cloud out of his mouth. He will be unable to work, even after sleeping. He will act very tired.

and wen you dont feed him/yourself his smile will be a frown feed him and it will turn into a smile again
