I get the sound of the screeching and lots of other sound effects. Even the engines of passing cars. My own car does not have any sound to it. I have a Sound Blaster Live if that helps anyone.

mine does dat and all i did was mess around with the sound options in da game, im not sure if it will work 4 u tho?

try downloading latest sound driver for your Sound Card
