1. in the first part he tries to throgh his crown at you jump over it and jump on him, 2. he will run twords you jump over him, he will be on the left hand side of the ship he will throgh his crown at you dodge it then before the crown comes back jump on him it is important not to jump on him if he does not have his crown off, 3. he will then run to the right hand of the ship jump over him again then he will charge at you from the left and stop at the right hand side of the ship, he will throgh his crown at you dodge it jump on him, 4. he runs twords you again and when he stops he will be back at the right side through crown at you jump on him again, 5. then he starts jumping he will jump from the right to the left but hi enogh not to hit you but don't get calm bechause cannon balls that dont explode drop from left to right to avoid hitting them wile one hits the ground jump over it but wait for the one over you to be at the top other wise you will hit the cannon ball your jumping over it takes a lot of skill to avoid these belive me, then he throughs his crown at you jump on him, 6. then he will jump to the other side cannon balls drop from right to left note when cannon balls start falling there on k. rolls side then from left to right then he throughs his crown at you jump on him, 7. now he will jump to the left side cannon balls will fall from left to right then right to left then left to right, then throughs his crown and jump on him he will be knocked out but its not over yet even though what looks like credits rools, 8. after its at the end? he will get up and jump not over the whole boat short jumps and cannon balls don't fall, wile he is in air run under him quickly use y for running, he will stop at the right side of the boat and through his crown at you jump on him, he will jump the short jumps again to the left then shorter jumps to the right throughs his crown jump on him, 9. he will jump short jumps and then shorter and then shortest and then he will through his crown at you jump on him and you finaly defeted him.

jump over everything and hope not to get hit

Uhh come on It si too easy. I've done it like 200 times, but the last time I played DK country 1, was when I was 11 or 12 so 5 or 6 years ago.
Here is what you do:

-try to stand near to him, so when he throws his crown you can jump on his head( but don't forget, the crown will come back). Then (i think) you have to avoid the canon bals coming out of the sky. once you have done that (really don't remember if 3 or 6 times...), he will fell and it will say that you won, but you haven'. he Will get up and start jumping so you will need to stay ducked down, use Diddy Kong(the smaller monkey, with the hat...) to duck and when he will stop jumping he will throw the crown again, so jump on his head 3 times. Then you will win, and the cave on the beggining of the game will be filled with bananas.

I hope this will give you some help for this SNES game, cause it was one of my favourites.
