How do you get all the monsters in the game! -- Game Help, Questions and Answers

Like in the beginning of chapter 2, you save a chocobo and you have a lot of chocobos if you breed them. What I don't get is how do you get a goblin, ghoul, dragon, ect. to join your party? I have been though the whole game, but didn't get anything but chocobos! Please help me

You have to have the Mediator skill invite
