In the level where the zombies & the headless monsters first attack, I cant seem to keep up with the blue light hovering and singing above me. what can I do to make slow down so I can keep up with him?

He's just a crazy little Artificial Intelligence, left to watch Installation 04, and he is most definitly delightfully mad. He's always doing something, and he's really fast. Just go the direction he's going, and kill as many of the freaky hyper killer space ninja zombies of doom as you can.

you dont have to keep up I got a shotgun and blew every single one of those bugers into a septilion pieses and then I ran around till I found him

ABSOLUTLY ZIPPO! All you have to do is beat all of the covenet, or rather the monsters from you-know-were and progress farther and WAMMO!(you find that care free little blue orb!)
