By the way, I know that Mercury is supposed to let go of the wand. How do I do that too??

Lift up the red knuckle thingy and press his REAL finger. The \right index and the left middle. He should let go of the wand then.

You need to be able to go down into the secret passage by the gargoyle. Downstairs, in the secret passage, to the right at the bottom of the stairs you will find a "dragon" behind a set of doors. There is a button you can push in and out. Then, by clicking the fingers, you can go to the top of the dragon and click and it lets you look into the library at Mercury. Every time you click the fingers, Mercury moves/turns. Turn him jsut right and he lets go of the wand.
