if you are running xp pro, change the compatibility on the three files "gamemd.exe," ra2md.exe," and "yuri.exe," to windows 98/me. if you are unsure how to do this, right click on each file, click the compatability tab and check the compatability box then change the settings to windows 98/me. get back to me at prostock02@aol.com and let me know if it works for you, it did for me.

This is a question, sort of.
I'm also having that problem. However, I've tried the compatability thing on those three files with no luck. I'm running Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2. The funny thing is the main Red Alert 2 game still works without changing anything. I bought the game and expansion pack over a year ago and they worked fine then. I still had XP Pro. I thought Service Pack 2 was the problem, however, I uninstalled it and the game still wouldn't work. (And neither did my internet for some reason.) Anyway, I did a system restore to restore Service Pack 2 and my internet was working again, but the game was not. LOL!
I recently emailled Electronic Arts about this, but something tells me it won't do any good. Ever since EA took over Westwood Studios, they've stopped placing priority on all C&C games that were made before C&C Generals. That means no more patches, updates, or news. The only thing I found on their website about this issue was the compatibility thing. And then they say if that doesn't work, they would send you an unopened copy of the game to take back to the store for a refund. Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I don't want a refund; I want to play the freakin' game! I hope someone out there knows something else that works. Thanks!
