If you need an item, (any item) it is usually easiest to type in cheat code for it.

player-> additem "*insert item id here*"

However, the item id isn't always the name that appears by it or how it is refered to in Morrowind.

Go open the construction set to find the id.

Once you have opened up the construction set, load Morrowind. (Click that button right underneath File.)

A window should pop up. Once it pops up, double click the box right next to Morrowind and click Ok.

When Morrowind is loaded, find the tab that corresponds to the item's type. For example, I'm trying to make that Dwemer Puzzle Box Caius sent me to find. (Sry if you haven't gotten there and I spoiled it for you.) Since that box is not a "Lockpick", "Probe", "Repair Item", "Static", "Weapon", etc. I'd click the "Misc Item" tab.

Now, I'd proceed to look under the "Name" collum for the Dwemer Puzzle box.

Once I get to it, I'd look to the "ID" collum to its furthest left.

It tells me that the ID for the Dwemer Puzzle box is "misc_dwrk_ark_cube00". So I'd type that into the cheat code and get...

player-> additem "misc_dwrk_ark_cube00"

Now, if that doesn't work I may want to try leaving off the zeros or something...

To get ANY item you want to get or have lost and want back, while ingame, press the "~" button at the top left hand corner of the keyboard and type "player -> additem *itemID 1" and press enter.

*Note:you must get the items id from the tes construction set or find a similar id and guess what to type.

You can use the tes construction set to make a plugin that places the item in front of the door of one of your houses, then give the item to the person you have to give it to (for a mission or something), next time you play morrowind you deactivate the plugin. From now on the item won't appear again and you can just play along.

Well you can always find the astrisis codes(find a website that has them)or find a way around it. Some quests you can find a back door to but since you didn't give details about the mission i can't tell you if you can or not. So that's all I know(Also i have the game on Xbox so i don't know anything about the astrisis codes except that the codes are found on the internet.)
Good Luck!^^
