How do i get the big gear that fits in the box that i had to put together in the basement?

I can see it over the railing of the left balcony, but whenever i try to get it i fall off and fie. what the hell!

okay you have to be on the second level of the theatre and then you have to find the part of the little shelf thingy and that has the part of the star that is broken off and then go towards it. Okay you have to keep moving your arrow so it looks like you are going over the edge. but you arent you are just going to LOOK over the edge. then if you have the wand(wich you find in Brady Armstrong's closet) and the piece of bubble gum that you find on the lowerlevel of the theatre stuck to one of the chairs.
