once you pay the monkey go inside and across a collapsing bridge, then turn left and use a key, inside is a maze. Make your way through the maze to find a key in the bottom right and a few steps up is a crack in the wall. Throw a bomb at it to open. Go inside and you will find a big chest, open chest to get hammer.

It's in the Palace of Darkness in the Dark World. This is located where the East Palace would be. You'll need to pay 110 rupees to get in.
