Alright, first things first. The switch that opens the gates, your best bet to actually beat it is to pull the lever right, which u did. If you pulled it the other way and went in that way you wouldve had to face quite a bit of villagers and then two chainsaw ladies, not a good idea to go that way until you have the chicago typewriter. But for the right passage where it has the "monster" otherwise called El Gigante she does point out a rock that you should shoot. What you do is once the cutscene of the monster is done and after Ashley points out the rock back up a bit and then fire at the platform thats holding the rock. Its really not that hard to hit it, really all you do have to do is hit it because even if you hit the boulder itself i think it still falls but yea so hit the boulder once the monster grabs Ashley. If you do it to soon it wont effect the monster at all. But then after that youve already faced this monster once before so do what you did before to beat him and then move on making sure that you get all the items and the special treasure thats hidden in a bucket.
