Go into the house -- it should be dark on the inside. Tell the boy the Funny Joke and he will give you the Touching Book. Bump into Maple. You will drop the Touching Book and she will give you the Magical Oar in return. Give the Magical Oar to Rafton (the man who made you the raft), and he will give you the Sea Ukulele.Give the sea ukelele to the old zora and he will give you a broken sword.

adding on to what link2020 just said, if u take the broken sword to the healing wall, you can turn it into the noble sword which is the reason for this weird trading sequence. your efforts will not be for nothing. after you see how much stronger the noble sword is, u wont regret it.
