ive been mining gold but still no dough? whats going on

Depends on where you mine the gold, and if there is a road on it. Mine where the is a picture of gold, build a road on it, and be sure it is in your city boundaries (city mode). If you mine a mountain, you'll only get resources that are used to increse production, I(little shields)

the mining only increases the wealth of your people to devolop faster, if you want money, you need to put more in tax under distribute

Making money in Civilation for me is quite easy, even on emperor mode. When you build your capital in the beginning, sell your palace. This gives you 200 resources. When you build another city, you will have another palace which you can sell for yet another 200 resources! Tho, corruption and the chace that your country can side with another increases.
