Hey! I just caught my first shiny after owning and playing the game for over a year! It's a whismur that i found in rusturf tunnel and it is a brighter pink with green ears and feet. The thing is, i wasn't sure whether it would stay shiny - say if i evolved it into loudred then exploud, would i get a shiny exploud? So does anyone know if shiny pokemon stay shiny after you evolve them? I don't want to lose my only shiny!

yes it does stay shiny ,whatever you do. as long as you dont release it!

i am 99.9 precent sure it will stay shiny but to be sure after every battel save.

go to the battle tour, save in front of the pc, deposit whismur, save again, withdraw whismur talk to the nearest lady that you talk to to take a challenge, tell her challenge, then when she says would you like to save the game, reset it, then turn it back on, then go to the pc, if you did it right, there will be another whismur. evolve 1 of them, if it stays shiny, good 4 u. if not, thsn you have another shiny whismur

dont lison to the guy that said dont lison to the first guy I clone all my pokemon and items 247 even my rare pokemon like the regies or the 3 pokeomon rayquaza groudon and kryoger and the regies so the best thing to do would be clone it and evole one of them if it stays shiny trade the other one to one of your friends

Yes but if i can evolve it then i would like to! I don't want to stop it evolving, if it won't stay shiny then i'll leave it but if it will then i'd like to!

I don't know if you already did it, but DO NOT follow the first guys advice, that's cloning, and it only works sometimes, and there's a chance you could lose your whole game! That and im sure it will stay shiny, i wouldn't know, but im fairly sure...
