When the monsters come up from the potholes, use your newly aquired 'earth quake' capability and they will start spinning around. You then wait for them to make a full revolution and smash them(only)in the back-the lighted area-and then repeat the entire process-you need to have enough gem juice or whatever that is, you know, power-and then you will defeat the monsters and grab their moonseeds. good luck!
