How do you beat the Aztec level on Normal/Hard difficulty?

in the room with all the pillars, all the symbols have to be connected. when you come to the second bridge after defeating four of the stone golems, you have to shoot the faces on the sides of the room to move the bridge forward. then pick up the grenade launcher and defeat the remaining three golems.
