It works if some one makes contact with you just as you make contact spin. it should avoid some tackles if you get good enough at it. no i am sorry there is not a shoulder block. if you want to still sack the qb more turn offsides off. then be a defensive end. run toward the line and it will stop you. move away from the qb about and inch away from the spot where you already were. start runnin until the qb says hut. then use sprint to get there faster and when you are close enough. it might sound complicated but it is easy after you do t enough times. it helps even more when you create a player and rig him so he has 99 everything. then hecan also be your punter and kicker. he can also be you WR or TE. if you make him as a defensive end his overall for WR suck but he is good because he has 99 everything. the only thing he aint good at is qb. i think creating an end is the best position to create a player. adios amigos

NO their is no shoulder charge you can perform(maybe if you read the manual that came with the game, you would have noticed this and would not be wasting other people's time you LOSER!!! You can easily find out for yourself which offenses and defenses are the best.. It shows you the teams overall,offense and defense statistics when you pick your team.. I suggest you do this if you are that eager to know, because i am not going to tell you. And you don't get tackled on Defense you chode, so you can't break through them.
