You don't get the Grappling Beam from Crocomire. You go through the path that was revealed when you beat him, and drop down the pit. Go through the door there. Clear the blocks out with a power bomb, and go the the right. Speed boost your way to the left, and when you get to the end of the platform, jump to the upper-left. Enter the door and claim the Grappling Beam. Use it to get back out of the area and up into the main area of Norfair.
