you can't defeat that guy when you fight with him only with Bart.you're suposed to die

It's a very, very difficult battle to win. He has a huge amount of HP (90,000?) and hits ridiculously hard.
I remember some key points being that your characters' deathblows were thoroughly developed.
FrameHPXX% MIGHT help, but probably not--it'll use too much fuel and recover too little.
Wild Smile can reduce his accuracy. This is quite the lifesaver.
It'll probably involve a lot of luck. I heard it was possible to kill him, so I tried it using an emulator's save-state feature. The attacks are randomized, so if he didn't miss, I'd reload until he did miss. It was cheap and dirty, but he can be defeated. He drops a Slayer Robe, I believe.
